Men’s Sheds

A new practical project for men in Erewash

“A mens shed offers a larger version of the typical mans shed in the garden to a group of men where members share tools and resources to work on projects of their choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue.”

When? Every Monday (Except bank holidays) 10.30am – 12.30pm

Where? Derventio Housing, Ilkeston office, the orchard works, 1 Grenville road, Ilkeston, DE7 8HT

It is £2 per session. No booking is necessary – just go along!

Tea Dance

“Come Along and Be Part of our Wednesday Afternoon Social Club”

When? Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, 1.30pm – 3.30pm

Where? Erewash Voluntary Action, Granville Avenue, Long Eaton, NG10 4HD (fully accessible building)

It is £3 for each tea dance – this includes tea/coffee and cakes/biscuits

For those who wish, optional dancing to music from the golden era of tea dances will be available!

Craft and Chatter

Littlewick Medical Centre runs a weekly social “Craft & Chatter” where people get together for a chat, a cup of tea, a piece of cake and to do some craftwork.

Pop along and say hello!

When? Every Monday except Bank Holidays 12.45pm till 2.15pm

Littlewick Walking Group

When? 10am every Thursday

Where? Littlewick Medical Centre Reception (42 Nottingham Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 5PR)

Anyone is welcome to come along to Littlewick’s walking group – there is no need to book. Walks are short ranging between 1.5 and 3 miles long, they are led by qualified walk leaders and are suitable for those returning to, or new to exercise.

Walks are free of charge.

Afterwards, you will return to Littlewick where you can have a drink and a chat.

Community Coffee Morning

When? Every 2nd Tuesday of the month, 10am – 12 noon

Where? Long Eaton Health Centre, Midland Street, Nottingham, NG10 1RY

Anyone is welcome to come along for a coffee and a chat, regardless of our themes.

The coffee morning is free of charge, there is no need to book and new members are always welcome.

Well-being days

Treetops Hospice Care offer well-being days for people living with a life-limiting illness.

The well-being day offers support to help you deal with concerns that may arise as a result of your condition and aims to enhance your capacity to care for yourself.

Workshops and sessions may include:

  • Self-management skills & coping strategies
  • Breathlessness
  • Fatigue management
  • Building resilience
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Stress & anxiety management
  • Sleeping well – techniques to improve sleep
  • Exercise – gentle chair based exercise, walking
  • Relationships & communication
  • Future planning
  • Mindfulness
  • Complementary Therapy
  • Creative activities – art, music, singing
  • Gardening (horticultural therapy)

The well-being days are every Monday 10am-3pm and are free of charge.
